Our Story

Hi, I'm Michelle. My husband Greg and I grew up in Haskell, Oklahoma. It was there in that quiet, little town that my childhood dream came true. I always played "restaurant" with my cousins in my gramma's kitchen and cooked for my family and friends. I'd heard over and over, "You should open a restaurant!" The original Local Flavor building was an old antique store owned by Mrs. Ray and her husband Herman. After Herman got sick, the building sat empty for 10 years. I'd pass by and say what a cute restaurant that would be. On November 2, 2016, I made a pot of brown beans, fried potatoes and cornbread for my friends trucking  company crew. I was asked to do it again and again so long story short, we bought the building and opened up Local Flavor. Wa-lah four years later, to my disbelief, here we are in Branson, Missouri at a 2nd location. All of our blood, sweat and tears paid off. I have to thank God, my family and friends. It has been a dream come true! And, thank you for a part of our family and sharing a meal with us! We hope you enjoy your time in our home away from home!
